Half-day charters usually start at 1:30 PM and return around 5:00 PM

What should I bring?

Relaxed, comfortable clothing is the norm on the Marie Elena. While sailing, it’s usually a few degrees cooler on the water than on land, so dress accordingly. Please wear shoes with light-colored or white rubber-soles (i.e., sneakers or boat shoes). In addition, here are some suggestions to consider.

Hats                                                    Camera                       Reading Material

Bathing Suits                                    Shorts                         Batteries

Sunglasses                                      T-shirts                        iPod and headphones

Cover-ups & Sunscreen                Tank Tops                  Memory Cards

Snorkel gear is provided on the boat for all our Virgin Island Charters but if you have your own feel free to bring it along.

What should I NOT pack?

Many guests tend to over pack. In general, bring less rather than more.
Ladies, hair preparations like gel and straighteners typically go unused in high humidity conditions. Heeled shoes are not very safe so we discourage them. Flip Flops are acceptable but not the best idea for a firm grip.
We provide a rinse down warm water outdoor shower, soap and towels for all swimmers.

Men, enjoy the chance to unwind and spend some quality time with your partner by leaving your laptop at home. It’s a chore to lug around and they usually go unused. For emergency email checking, we have a computer and iPhone on the boat that is available for limited use.

Is there a bathroom on the Marie Eleana?

Our full-equipped head includes a toilet, hot shower, and sink with hot and cold running water. There is also a hot water outdoor shower for swimmers.

What kind of carry-ons should I use?

Hard suit cases are not allowed on the boat so bring either a duffel bag or any collapsible bag that can be easily stored. Waterproof or ziplock bags are a good idea to protect delicate, valuable items like phones.

What is included in the price?

Our charters include snacks and refreshments, towels, snorkel gear. A box lunch is also included with full day charters. All charters are captained by a USCG licensed professional and knowledgeable crew. Our prices do not include special requests but we will always try to meet your needs so let us know in advance. Also, a gratuity for the crew will be greatly appreciated.

Are there any snacks or beverages aboard?

We provide finger foods (dips and chips as well as refreshments) You are welcome to bring your own favorite alcoholic beverages. We have ice and mixers. Full day charters include a box lunch. Longer charters include meals. We will work with you and your suggestions for meals.

How many people can cruise on the Marie Elena?

We can comfortably accommodate up to six guests.

What about the weather?

We constantly monitor weather information. We won’t go out in lightening, fog, rough seas or other bad weather. If this happens, we will gladly reschedule for a mutually agreeable rain-check date.

What about safety?

The Marie Elena complies with all United States Coast Guard regulations for a charter vessel. Captain Nick is a USCG Certified  Master with 40 years of sailing experience. The Marie Elena is insured for commercial charter.

Will I get seasick?

If you are susceptible to motion sickness we recommend you bring over the counter medication or ask your doctor for a recommendation. We keep some lavender oil onboard which works wonderfully too. We do our best to sail in calm waters and arrange our day with your comfort in mind.

What about special medicine?

Special medicine should be brought with you. The yacht carries a basic medical kit only.

What about smoking?

We strictly prohibit smoking below deck due to the fire hazard it creates. This is common among most yachts. If you must smoke, please stay on the deck or smoke while on shore.
